The Reroot impact:
Each time you buy a Reroot tour, you contribute to programs in the very communities you visit. At Reroot, we believe tourism should be regenerative—i.e. visitors should leave a place better than they found it. To date, we’ve used tour dollars to invest in the following initiatives (and many more).
How we reinvest in the communities in which we operate:
DONATED TWO MOSQUITO FUMIGATION MACHINES
Servicing 350 cantones (towns) where every single house is fumigated for mosquito-related diseases. Each machine came complete with trainings on how to use it.
PURCHASED A HORSE
For one of our farmers who couldn't feed both himself and his horse during the pandemic. The farmer sold his horse, and Reroot bought it back (with horse feed!).
Donated a Life-Saving Machine
After the tragic death of a surfer close to our team, an AED machine was donated to the coast of El Salvador in order to prevent untimely loss of life.
PLanted trees & DONATED LAWN Equipment
Planted a grove of orange trees to employ a group of 13 Salvadoran women to sell juice to their communities.
Equipped a community with lawn supplies for garden maintenance.
Planted bamboo trees in a community subjected to severe erosion during rainy season.
REBUILT A HOME FOR AN INDIGENOUS FAMILY
After our Indigenous language teacher’s house collapsed, Reroot used $8,000 in donated funds to assist with the rebuilding of his home.
